True Blood Season 3

Well if you missed it I feel sorry for you!  True Blood Season 3 aired tonight and it was a great start to the season.  And Sookie Stackhouse played by Anna Paquin is looking fangtastic with her newly improved rock hard body!  We now know who took Bill and a little more about Sam not to mention the erotic dreams that are caused when you drink the blood of a vampire.  (Very funny!).

The only problem that I see with the show is that it’s not online.  You have to have cable and HBO to watch the show.  That’s not good for me since we just dropped our cable and opted for internet only TV.  HBO only shows short little videos and does not have a membership to watch their shows online.  So sad!!  I will have to wait to see the rest of the shows when they come out on video with Netflix.com or on iTunes.  Anyway if you are watching the show I don’t want to hear about it.  I’ll watch it when I can.

The Last Airbender Movie

The Last Airbender movie starts July 2nd in the theaters.  My sons and I will be going to see this movies since we all watched the show Avatar: The Last Airbender when it was on TV.  It was an interesting show and this looks from the previews to be Book 1: Water.  Things take place in the story on both the South and North Pole Water Tribes where Ang (The Avatar) learns water bending (The ability to control water).  It was a great animated series and had 3 parts called Books 1, 2 & 3.  Water, Earth & Fire.  So , I expect to see this as a 3 part movie experience.

Okay, so yesterday I wrote about my option on the iPad.  Well, if you haven’t see one or purchased one here is your chance to get a 64 meg Wi-Fi ipad from Jeff Walker.

So I got to see the new iPad today and I have to tell you that I was not that impressed.  It’s an oversized iPhone that is heaver and harder to hold in one hand.  Now, don’t get me wrong… I LOVE my iPhone!!  I think it is the best mobile phone on the market and use it everyday.  But, unlike the iPhone the iPad is not as easy to hold in one hand and you can’t type with your thumbs.  The iPad does not stand up on it’s own so showing another person something requires you to set it down flat on a table or hold it up with your hand.  And the web application looks for mobile websites first and not your standard web page.

The iPad that is currently available is the Wi-Fi  only version .  The 3G version will be released later this month.  Maybe it’s me but why would you only get the Wi-Fi version when the 3G allows both the 3G and Wi-Fi.  You do not have to have the 3G active and there is no contract for the 3G it’s just a month by month deal of $15.00 through AT&T.    It  just seems that it would be a smarter move for the extra $50 (The price difference between the Wi-Fi and the Wi-Fi/3G iPads) even if you only use the Wi-Fi for now.  You know… invest in the future!

Maybe it’s me but, I would just like to see some better built-in options like a stand and wireless keyboard/mouse to come with the iPad and not have to buy it as an after thought  / after market add on.  The iPad costs too much money for Apple to force you to buy more things to make the iPad a fully usable product for more then a lap reader.

Well the year has ended and a new one is about to begin. I am looking forward to 2010 and hope you are as well.
