Well, I have been working hard to get a new look for the shows website and I think it’s coming along great. I would like to hear what you think. Check it out and let me know.
Just a side note: I know that not everything is working the way it should but I have put in my request to get some help with fixing it.

Well the year has ended and a new one is about to begin. I am looking forward to 2010 and hope you are as well. The show Your Home On TV will be starting back up and I will also be working on several blog sites… Yourhomeontv.com is one of them. We are redesigning the site and including a blog into the site design as well. This should help to boost the hits to the website and improve search engine standing.
Happy New Year and welcome to 2010!
YourHomeOnTV.com will not be opening in the beginning of January.
December is not a good month to get in contact with Realtors and advertisers so, something has to give. I have decided to postpone the reopening of the show until later in the beginning or 2010. Until then we are selling stuff on ebay. Please follow this link if you would like to see what we have http://shop.ebay.com/zapnapsales/m.html
Thanks and have a happy holiday.
Due to a decline in advertisers and Realtors the show has been closed for the month of December. The show will restart in the month of January following the redesign of the website and the opening and closing of the show.
We are currently preselling spots on the show which is expected to air Wednesday December 31st on Charter Cable channel 14. The show will also be found ondemand and on the website YourHomeOnTV.com. We are expecting a high turnout rate for the show with a start-up price discount for all new agents of $14.95 per home per week. The show will air 7 days a week at 6:30am, 9:30am, noon, 6:30pm and 10:30pm.
Advertisers are also welcome. We currently are accepting new advertisers on the show. Please call for details (507) 244-1222.
YourHomeOnTV.com was purchased back in September 2009. The show airs 7 days a week and 5 times per day on Charter Cable channel 14. You can also view it ondemand, on our website http://wwww.yourhomeontv.com or on YouTube.com.
We currently have several agents on with homes on the show… Amy Lantz and Frank & Mert Armstrong of Coldwell Banker Burnet, Bill Doran with Elcore Realty, Linda Klovstad with Edina Realty, Melissa Cox with Keller Williams and Angie Clark, Prudential Lovejoy Realty.
We have several opening left on the show for Realtors and home owners who are selling via For Sale By Owner. We also are looking for companies looking to advertise on the show.
Please contact us at 507-244-1222 or visit us online at YourHomeOnTV.com
I had a meeting the other day with Angela the owner of YourHomeOnTV.com. The site and company only started a few months ago and is doing really well. She has a great product and it seems to be well accepted by a few of the local Realtors. Honestly, I think that ALL Realtors and for that matter For Sale By Owners (FSBO’s) should be using both video and the power of the internet as well as TV to market their properties.
Let’s face it. Times are hard for the Real Estate market. Homes are selling a little slower and at lower prices, the magazines are costly and so is the newspaper. Internet is cheap, videos can be posted for free on several sites that you may have heard of (Google, Yahoo, YouTube, etc.) and are cheaper in the long run to have made. Heck, if you’re up to teaching yourself, you can even learn to shoot and edit your own videos. Plus the TV show at YourHomeOnTV.com runs 7 days a week 3 times a day on Charter Cable for a price that will… I must say it… Shock You! It is so cheap that I told her she needs to raise her prices!
Anyway, if you have a home that you would like to market on the internet and TV in the Rochester, MN area check out YourHomeOnTV.com and tell Angela that you heard about it here.
Happy marketing!

Many Realtors try marketing homes over the web. Take this ad found on Craigslist.org… he tries… But like so many he has missed a bunch of very important key elements about advertising or promoting over the Internet. (Please note that his is the first Realtor link on the page and that is why I chose his ad.) Let’s break it down…
- In the title he gives you the price, where it’s located and the address.
- In the ad you get his direct email address.
- You also get everything about the home like number of bedrooms, sizes and amenities.
- Then you get the MSL #
- And a few pictures.
Let’s look at the elements…
- Title: Though it is convenient to give the price and allow only those that are looking for a home in that price range to click on your ad it may not be the best way to get your ad seen. The title draws them in then you hit them with the pitch before you give the price. This way even if they are not interested in that home they get to see it and how you advertise homes. This can be used to gain a new seller or maybe even direct them as a buyer to a home that they can afford. Draw them in… “Zumbro Falls Home with Beautiful Lake View – Must see this view!”
- Contact information: The email address is not placed in an area on the ad as a contact. It is used by Craigslist and so it’s placement on the page is only there because they require it. His name is in the email but, once again he missed a very important piece of advertising… Contact information. Where is his full name, phone number, website link or email link on the page?
- Home Specs: He gives lots of information about the home which is nice but it’s all listed in a paragraph. This type of information does not allow the reader to search and find what they are looking for. To scan the page or draw your attention to something special about the home.
- MLS: Giving the MLS or Multiple Listing Service number is nice but what if it was linked to the actual listing page? Don’t assume anything. Don’t assume that people know what MLS means, don’t assume they know where to find the listing page and don’t assume they know what it means. Link to the page. This is not a newspaper or magazine. Links from one page to the next happen all the time and that is what sets the Internet apart from those other mediums.
- Pictures: Pictures are nice but, they don’t tell or in this case show the home the way video can. With video you can see the home, hear the descriptions and meet the agent. You can create an experience with music, moving pictures and the emotion of your voice. Video can make you stand out above all of the noise of the other homes on the market and gives people a reason to see you as the agent to buy or sell a home with.
Advertising over the internet allows you to link back to your website, your email address and video or a virtual tour (Not the same thing but, that’s for another post.). The interactivity of the web is what make it appealing and a great medium to advertise on. Please use the elements that I have given here and create a great marketing campaign for your property.
Thanks for reading.

I have been reading, watching videos and reading blogs about the power of video to sell things.
Back when I got this site and all of the others that came with it as well as the basic idea for how to use video to sell homes I have been interested. Video is a very powerful medium! I tried to present it to Realtors in a way so they would not have to do open houses or even show non-interested buyers a home until they were ready to buy. The buyers could sit at home and watch the video tours of the homes. Once they found one that they were interested in they could contact the agent to see the home in person. These videos had music, voice-over, text graphics and showed the best parts of the property. I found it to be a hard sell. Realtors are stuck in their ways! Anyway… I have been learing about the power of using video to sell other items over the web and will begin showing videos on this site once I have made them. So, sit back and… well not right now.
I will be posting the first video very soon.
Thanks for reading… maybe next time you can watch!
