I liked Cars and the kids loved it. And now they are looking forward to seeing Cars 2. The official teaser trailer does not show you much of anything but it’s fun. Enjoy it…
The Last Airbender Review
Wow… okay, the animated show aired for 3 seasons and all of the characters had names that were said over and over again during the 3 years. (Just a side note it is also available on NetFlix on demand.) So with that said…
Why were the names not said correctly??? What the hell?? Okay, so you get a few people to the movie that have never seen the animated show and may not know the names of the characters. But, I am willing to bet that like myself and my kids we watched every show and know the characters inside and out. And we were looking forward to seeing the live action with cool special effects, Appa and the gang of friends who help the Avatar. What we got was mispronounced names, no jokes or crazy stuff and a change in characters looks and nationality (It’s an Asian world, not Indian). Plus and I understand this to a degree… a change in the story line. Let’s face it they have to cram 20 1/2 hour episodes into a 2 hour show so some of the story will get lost. However, I would have picked a few other lines to weave into the show. There was also a lot of crammed relationships into the movie which in my option were rushed. Like what? you ask… well the love relationship between Sokka and the Princess Yue for one.
Let’s just get to the point… I won’t be going to the theater to see number 2 unless the trailer is so damn good that I have too and even then I would really think about it. In the end I was disappointed with the movie as a whole and hope that they improve the next two. But, from what the first delivered I fear that is just wishful thinking.
The Last Airbender Movie
The Last Airbender movie starts July 2nd in the theaters. My sons and I will be going to see this movies since we all watched the show Avatar: The Last Airbender when it was on TV. It was an interesting show and this looks from the previews to be Book 1: Water. Things take place in the story on both the South and North Pole Water Tribes where Ang (The Avatar) learns water bending (The ability to control water). It was a great animated series and had 3 parts called Books 1, 2 & 3. Water, Earth & Fire. So , I expect to see this as a 3 part movie experience.
If you haven’t seen the preview check it out at the official website… http://www.thelastairbendermovie.com/
