He has also returned with a new lead actor, Liam McIntyre playing the part that was left open by the death of Andy Whitfield. Liam has some big shoes to fill since Andy embodied the role of Spartacus.
We also see the return of some of the other characters that were left alive from the first show Blood and Sand. Joining Spartacus is Crixus, Doctore, Mira and Lucretia who was though to be dead. Also, Naevia will return only with a new actress playing her as well Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
Well Stars has allowed the first episode to be released to the public for free by just following this link Spartacus: Vengeance, you must be 18 or older to view it but, it’s worth a look if you’re a fan of the first two seasons.
I have had a chance to see the show and… spoiler here… I am just not sure. I miss Andy. I thought he brought a lot to the character and just don’t see Liam as Spartacus yet. There are lots of other differences in the show as well. Some silly, like the line… “You had me at whorehouse.” and others well if you’re a fan you’ll know them when you see them. Liam does not play the role like Andy would have and I guess that I will need to get use to that if I want to watch the other shows. For now, I will just have to see.
One thing that the producers and writer have done is to keep pushing the show towards a harder edge. More full frontal nudity mixed with more vicious violence and a deeper more interesting story line. I loved the first one and the prequel showing the rise of Crixus.
